An ode to an old friend...

My dearest friend, it has been 20 years since we got together and boy has it been a helluva ride! You have seen the ups and downs, rode the rollercoaster and been there when I needed you most. You are a true friend indeed. It pains me greatly that despite what we have been through, I need to put an end to us. You have been a great companion all these years but I need to think of my life and the importance of it without you. I appreciate your comfort and attention whenever I felt down and alone but you need to realize that this relationship is destructive. Both of us will eventually destroy each other being together. It is now time to move on...I am sorry, but it has to be done. I will miss you.
